چکیده

Knowledge of the dynamic performance of turbopumps is essential for the prediction of instabilities in hydraulic systems; the necessary information i s in the form of a transfer function relating the instantaneous pressures and mass flow rates at inlet and discharge. Cavitation has a significant effect on this transfer function since dynamical changes in the volume of cavitation contribute to the difference in the instantaneousflow rates. The present paper synthesizes the transfer matrix for cavitating inducers at moderately low frequencies and shows that the numerical results a r e consistent with observations on rocket engine turbopumps.

A Multifrequency Instability of Cavitating Inducers

Recent testing of high speed cavitating turbopump inducers has revealed the existance of more complex instabilities than the previously-recognized cavitating surge and rotating cavitation. This paper explores one such instability which is uncovered by considering the effect of a downstream asymmetry such as a volute on a rotating disturbance similar to (but not identical to) that which occurs i...

Hydrodynamic Cavitation for Degradation of Auramine O Dye Solution by Vortex Diode

Hydrodynamic cavitation for the degradation of model dye wastewater containing Auramine O dye was investigated using vortex diode as a cavitating device. The effect of different operating parameters such as inlet pressure, initial dye concentration and flow rate on degradation rate of auramine O was studied in the concentration range of 80 mg/L to 1200 mg/L. The cavitational yield of the cavita...
